Standard plant pots rarely fit a specific shelf, windowsill or workbench space perfectly. The TekOnline Flower Pot Generator lets you create a tapered planter with the exact dimensions you need, complete with a drain hole and optional drainage feet — all from your browser.
Why a parametric flower pot?
Off-the-shelf pots come in fixed sizes. If you have a narrow shelf, a tight windowsill or a custom hydroponics tray, a parametric pot gives you a perfect fit. 3D printing also lets you choose colours, infill patterns and materials (PLA, PETG, ASA) that suit indoor or outdoor use.
Flower pot parameters
- Bottom OD: outer diameter at the base — 20 mm to 300 mm
- Top OD: outer diameter at the rim — 30 mm to 400 mm
- Wall thickness: 1 mm to 15 mm — thicker walls for outdoor pots, thinner for indoor
- Drain hole OD: 0 mm to 50 mm — set to 0 for a solid-bottom pot
- Pot height: 10 mm to 500 mm — from tiny succulent pots to large planters
New: Drainage feet
A recent update added an optional Drainage Feet checkbox. When enabled, four cylindrical feet are printed under the pot floor, lifting it 5 mm above any surface. Water drains freely through the centre hole instead of pooling against a flat surface. The feet are positioned near the pot edge so they do not block the drain hole.
Quick-start presets
Three presets are included to get you started:
- Standard 100 mm Pot: 80 mm bottom, 120 mm top, 3 mm walls, 10 mm drain hole
- Small 80 mm Pot: 60 mm bottom, 90 mm top, 2.5 mm walls
- Large 150 mm Pot: 120 mm bottom, 180 mm top, 4 mm walls
A fourth preset “100mm Pot w/ Drainage Feet” loads the standard pot with the feet checkbox enabled.

Printing tips for plant pots
- Use PETG or ASA for outdoor pots — PLA degrades in sunlight and moisture
- Increase wall thickness to 3-4 mm for pots that will hold damp soil long-term
- Add 2-3 extra bottom layers if you are using a drain hole, to keep the floor rigid
- Consider vase mode (spiralised outer contour) for single-wall decorative pots
