Why this controller exists
The existing 8-zone roof-space board is a strong fit for multi-zone plant control, but a smaller wall-mounted product is a better fit for many residential installs.
Our 8-zone controller was well received, but many users wanted a simpler wall-mounted option with physical zone buttons. The 4-Zone Wall Controller Pilot brings that same open-control approach into a more direct, user-friendly format.
What can you expect when ordering?
We are currently finalising the PCB order and expect that to be completed within the next 7 days.
Once that is complete, the first production order will be placed. Manufacturing is expected to take around 2 weeks, followed by a few days for shipping.
During that time, we will also confirm fitment with the faceplate and prepare the first units for dispatch.
Current expectation: delivery in about 4 weeks. We will move faster if we can, and we will keep buyers updated as the batch progresses.
FAQ
Is this a finished flush wall controller?
This is the first production batch of the 4-Zone Wall Controller Pilot. It is a full-featured wall-mounted controller, and we are continuing to refine faceplate fitment and production details as the first batch ships.
Does it work without cloud services?
Yes. The controller is designed around local-first operation with ESPHome and Home Assistant. You are not locked into a vendor cloud platform to use the core control functions.
Is it compatible with my HVAC system?
It is designed for 24VAC zoning applications such as dampers, valves, and similar control setups. Final compatibility depends on your HVAC system and installation design, so if you are unsure, ask before ordering.
Can I use this with Home Assistant only?
Because this unit is programmable, you can use it just like any esp32 product, with the wealth of info available for this chip, there are many options. But for ease of use, most use these with esphome and home assistant.
Is installer support available?
Yes. If you want installer-focused guidance or are planning multiple units, get in touch and we can discuss the best fit.
Isn’t this just a relay board?
Not really. This is a purpose-built 24VAC wall controller that combines control, power, and user interface in one compact board. In many cases, you only need to feed it 24VAC, which can make it a much cleaner option than piecing together a generic relay board and separate hardware.
