You run many web apps. Each app has its own URL. You keep a long list of bookmarks. Authentik can replace that list. It shows every app on one page, even when the apps have no SSO.
What You Need
- An Authentik instance with admin access
- A public URL for each app
- Optional: a favicon URL for each app icon
How It Works
Authentik stores each application with a launch URL. The user portal shows each application as a tile. Click a tile. The app opens in a new tab.
You do not need to configure SSO for the app. Leave the Provider field empty. Authentik only redirects the browser. The app keeps its own login page. You can mix apps with SSO and apps without SSO in one place.
Steps
- Open the Authentik admin interface:
https://authentik.your-domain.com/if/admin/ - Go to Applications, then Applications
- Click Create
- Type the application name, for example Jellyfin
- Leave the Slug as it is
- Scroll to the Metadata section
- Type the app URL in the Launch URL field
- Optional: add an icon URL in the Icon field
- Leave the Provider field empty
- Click Create
- Repeat for each app
Use the Launchpad
- Log out and log in again
- Open the user portal:
https://authentik.your-domain.com/if/user/ - Open the Applications tab
- Set the portal as your browser home page
- Click any tile to open the app
